Divers find Yoga Paws “the perfect solution”

Yoga and diving are complementary, according to Diversitea President Janine Davis.

“Learning relaxation, better breathing, and stretching, and strengthening leg and back muscles are all helpful to divers.  In just 15 minutes a day, divers can make a difference in how relaxed and fit they are for diving. Our DVD demonstrates an 18 minute routine that almost anyone can do - without any experience or knowledge of Yoga,” says Ms. Davis.

“The problem has always been that when we start to pack our dive gear the last thing we need is another bulky item to tote around, like a regular Yoga Mat.  Yoga Paws are the perfect solution!  They are small and compact, similar to cyclist gloves, and also come with foot pads that fit over the balls of your feet with a strap to separate the big toe and keep the foot paws in place.  The key is the Yoga mat material on the palms and balls of the feet, which offer traction on hardwood, boat decks and carpeting.  This makes it possible to practice Yoga almost anywhere. Yoga Paws come with their own travel case and weigh less than three ounces, packed. Retailers will get six sets of demonstration Yoga Paws to offer to customers for their use (like rental gear), with a minimum purchase of six sets for resale.  MSRP for a set of Regular size Yoga Paws is $29.95, and $34.95 for the Large/Men’s size.  The DVD is $14.00.

“We tested them aboard the Nautilus Explorer and found they were perfect for Liveaboards, as they permit the user to change orientation as the boat swings at anchor, and also allow one to work in a much smaller space than with a conventional mat. For seated poses, just put down a towel, and continue as usual.  ” Ms. Davis stated.

“Yoga Paws are also a great “Spa” product for resorts. They are a valuable amenity for guests, and those who try them will likely buy them in the boutique to take home.”

Ms. Davis suggests resorts offer a guided morning warm-up on the dock or in the lounge, or offer an assortment of Yoga DVD’s to guests for individual use. Most resorts have a big screen monitor that can play the DVD’s.

“Diversitea offers many health related items in addition to our Original and Sunset Blend Herbal Teas.  We also market No Jet Lag, Trip Ease and a variety of homeopathic products and have developed a Superfood Survival Kit, with a week’s worth of healthy food in a Seattle Sports Drybag.

“Our goal is to enhance the health and well-being of divers,” Ms. Davis concluded.
