No pride this year? No fear! Families can still celebrate being who they want and loving who they are with

“everyone’s favourite pantomime dame” Metro.

Mama G knew that lots of London families would be disappointed at the cancellation of this year’s Pride in London celebrations, so she’s thrilled to have teamed up with London Wonderground and Underbelly Festival to make sure that no one misses out! This will be a theatrical pride party that the whole family will enjoy, with stories and songs and plenty of joining in!

Audiences can bring the whole family to meet Mama G’s cast of colourful creations: a confused horse, feuding fairies, a fashionista dinosaur, bonfires lit with dancing, airport trumpet players and Bonny, the bunny that’s lost her bounce!

Mama G’s stories will have everyone laughing, thinking and loving in equal measure, with bucket loads of joining in and sharing in the theme of being YOU!

“A feast of hard-working show-biz glamour is here to enchant children and deliver grown-ups some much-needed reassurance and escapism for themselves.” LondonTheatre1

There will be a different combination of stories at each show and they are all written by the lady herself. She sings original songs too (although you might find some Jerry Herman or Peter, Paul and Mary numbers thrown in for good measure) She likes to keep her audiences on their toes!

About Mama G and Petite Pantos

Mama G’s shows are produced by Petite Pantos. They are performed and written by Robert Pearce (The Glenn Miller Story with Tommy Steele, Honk! Rainbow Live!) and is Directed by Amée Smith. All with a theme of loving who you are and being who you want. The shows are all created with a desire for every child (and grown up) to see themselves represented in stories and for every child (and grown up) to see that people different to themselves exist and deserve love and respect too.

Panto dame Mama G first came to life, at the Cowley Café, during the 2018’s Brighton Fringe. Since then she has been all over the UK (and visited Canada and Texas) telling stories to children and their families, about being who you are and loving who you want. She has been proving very popular and has told stories for the South Bank Centre, HSBC, Disney, ZSL London Zoo, Pride in London and Camp Bestival, as well as theatres, schools, libraries, museums, bookshops, nurseries and pretty much anywhere else that will have her. In 2020 she had been booked to perform at Glastonbury and the Edinburgh International Book Festival, as well as presenting this show in the West End… but, well, we all know what got in the way of that!

Petite Pantos was founded in 2016 and produces theatre for young audiences and their families with a focus on inclusiveness and embracing & celebrating differences with the motto “Be who you want and love who you are”

Creating and performing “traditional pantos with a twist” they ensure all the joy of panto also includes a message of social and political importance. The company has focused on bringing panto to new audiences in venues not regularly used as performance spaces and in communities without regular access to arts or representation in arts.

“The show is perfectly suited for all audiences and we as a family adored it. Now – Everybody Say Love!”
