Technology is incredibly important to the development of the modern world, which is why it is so important that you keep up with any and all tech news that you can.
AI News
As you can probably guess, AI remains one of the most groundbreaking and interesting forms of technological advancement in the current age.
So, whether you think AI is a terrible idea that is likely to end human civilization, or you think it is an amazing innovation that will launch humanity into a new golden age, you should probably know what’s going on in the field.
Elon’s AI Company
Despite years of speaking out about the dangers of AI, Elon Musk has taken a break from the real-time collapse of Twitter to announce the formation of xAI, which he says is a company dedicated to understanding the “true nature of the universe.”
Whatever your feelings about Musk are, he has collected a powerful collection of professionals in what seems to be an attempt to rival the unquestionable strength of OpenAI in the current landscape of AI tools online. If you’re interested in learning more about xAI, then you shouldn’t have trouble finding out more online.
Google’s “NotebookLM”
The LM in NotebookLM stands for language model, as in AI powered by a large language model. This new laptop is Google’s latest iteration of integrating AI technology into its devices, and its intention is to give you a ChatGPT-style assistant built into your laptop.
Kind of like a superpowered Clippy with access to a huge amount of information, depending on your views, you might love or hate that for a variety of reasons, but nothing is going to change that it’s a reality now.
The Rise of Threads
Meta’s newest venture into social media supremacy online, Threads, has been startlingly successful in usurping twitters status online, leading to – among other things – a surge in Meta’s Stocks in the wake of that success.
There are a plethora of reasons leading to Threads’s success, most of which you likely know well already if you’re even slightly active online. But the point that most people would agree has led most strongly to the success of threads would have to be the continued issues that plague Twitter.
If you’re running a business that succeeds online, you might want to take some time to look into Threads. Getting in on the ground floor might do you some good, and give you some time to get work in to manage APIs and start collecting data before the tide breaks. Assuming that it does, of course. After all, if Twitter’s collapse so far has shown anything, it’s how quickly digital environments can shift.
Reusable Rockets
At 9:00 am ET, on Wednesday, 12th July, the Chinese company LandSpace launched a rocket from Jiuquan spaceport. That isn’t necessarily surprising in and of itself, given that Jiuquan is a spaceport. However, the interesting thing about this rocket is that it was fuelled by methane, making the rocket a potentially groundbreaking stride toward truly sustainable spaceflight.
Even more remarkable, LandSpace managed to launch the rocket into orbit, cementing their name as the first company ever to achieve this amazing feat. This could be a historic move toward a future powered by methane-fuelled spaceflight. However, even if it isn’t it, this move by LandSpace is a historic one.
