Alongside Gaige Herrera, other top qualifiers during the 2023 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season, which marked the 19th out of 21 races and the fourth out of six races in the Countdown to the Championship playoffs, included Steve Torrence in Top Fuel, Bob Tasca III in Funny Car, and Greg Anderson in Pro Stock.

 

Herrera achieved this remarkable feat with a stunning run, covering the distance in just 6.627 seconds at a blistering speed of 204.16 mph, while riding his Mission Foods/Vance & Hines Suzuki. Not only did he break the existing national record, but his run also stands as the second-fastest in the history of Pro Stock Motorcycle. Remarkably, Herrera, who boasts eight wins this season, secured his 12th No. 1 qualifying position, setting a new class record for the most No. 1 qualifiers in a single season. As he heads into eliminations, his eyes are set on closing out yet another unforgettable weekend this season, beginning with his race against Blaine Hale.
