Parnaby Cyclones, a family-owned business with a legacy since 1973, has been at the forefront of designing and producing washing plants and equipment for the mining, quarrying, and mineral sectors globally. Renowned for their exceptional customer service and the durability of their equipment, the Parnaby brand has become synonymous with quality in the coal industry and, over the past 15 years, has expanded its expertise in the recycling sector.

This expansion was marked by the development of a Natural Medium Trial Wash Plant at their Chilton headquarters three years ago. The plant has served as a crucial experimental facility, successfully processing a diverse range of materials for various companies. This success paved the way for the company’s rebranding and the introduction of innovative recycling solutions, leveraging their extensive experience in wet separation technology.

Parnaby Cyclones’ recycling technologies are distinguished by several advantages, including significant landfill volume reduction, enhanced product yields, adaptable processing of various moisture content and contamination levels, and efficient capital expenditure returns. Their designs cater to both long-term and short-term projects, emphasising mobility and modular construction.

The company offers two unique wet separation solutions for Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) processing, aimed at reducing landfill volumes and generating clean, high-grade products. These solutions, based on dense and natural medium separation techniques, excel in separating clean aggregates and metals from IBA, providing an eco-friendly alternative to traditional dry separation methods.

A standout project involved a 50-100tph Natural Medium Cyclone Plant for biomass processing, achieving remarkable wood recovery rates and ash product purity, making the outputs suitable for reuse in energy production and concrete manufacturing. Another project in Belgium demonstrated the efficiency of their Natural Medium Barrel and Cyclone Plant in conjunction with eddy current separators, enhancing the magnetic separation process and generating valuable aggregate and ash products.

For Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) trommel fines, Parnaby Cyclones presents a wet separation solution that promises high processing throughput, robust design, and cost-effective scalability. This technology not only facilitates the processing of heavily contaminated feeds but also enhances the efficiency of existing dry separation systems, offering significant landfill weight reduction and revenue-generating opportunities through clean aggregate production.

The company’s recent successes extend to soil remediation and Material Recovery Facility (MRF) glass processing projects, showcasing their ability to handle varied and challenging feedstocks with custom-designed plants. These projects have emphasised Parnaby Cyclones’ commitment to environmental sustainability and innovation in recycling technologies.

Parnaby Cyclones maintains its commitment to excellence and customer service from its Chilton, Durham headquarters, where all equipment is manufactured in-house. With a global reputation for quality and reliability, the company continues to offer comprehensive services from consultation and design to installation and maintenance, ensuring clients receive tailored solutions that meet their specific needs.
