Founded by Gabriel Monfried and Matthew Forssman, GMF Group is a US asset management firm that adopts an opportunistic approach to real estate investing by focusing on undercapitalized property asset classes and markets. Matthew Forssman was educated at Harvard College, where he earned a degree in economics and served as President of the Harvard Investment Association. Gabriel Monfried is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance, Investment, and Banking. His professional affiliations include the Manufactured Housing Institute. Prior to founding GMF Group, Gabe Monfried also served as an Investment Banking Analyst for Goldman Sachs in New York; Associate Vice President, Investments for CIM Group in Los Angeles; and Vice President, Principal Investing at Macquarie Capital in New York.
